As an Account Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in expanding our market presence, managing a diverse portfolio of high-performance materials, and identifying key customer opportunities. Working closely with international market managers within the Advanced Materials Group, you’ll have the autonomy to develop strategies and forge strong relationships with industry leaders.
Your Role & Responsibilities:
Strategic Growth – Develop and execute a dynamic strategy aligned with budget goals to grow business within the UK & Ireland plastics industry (70% medical, 30% industrial).
Customer & Market Development – Identify, target, and win new business across both established and emerging markets, including medical moulders and industrial clients.
Portfolio Expansion – Build and manage an extensive product portfolio, introducing new lines and maximising opportunities.
Cross-Border Collaboration – Work alongside European affiliates to drive group-wide strategy and leverage global market insights.
Sales & Profitability Management – Monitor sales performance, maintain profitability, and ensure timely implementation of price adjustments.
Business Development – Seek out and capitalise on new business opportunities, prioritising high-value accounts.
CRM & Digital Optimisation – Maintain accurate records on CRM and pipeline platforms to enhance business intelligence.
Technical Support – Assist design houses and customers with technical inquiries, positioning our solutions as market-leading innovations.
Requirements:
Industry Expertise – A solid technical and commercial background, ideally within the UK & Ireland plastics conversion industry. Previous experience in the medical sector is highly desirable.
Qualifications & Experience – A degree in polymer chemistry or a related field OR a minimum of 5 years’ relevant industry experience.
Self-Starter – Motivated, disciplined, and comfortable working from home with a 40-60% travel commitment.
Relationship Builder – Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and adapt to different personality types.
Sales-Driven Mindset – Persistent, results-oriented, and passionate about achieving growth in a competitive market.
Additional Requirements – A valid driving licence is essential for this role.
Must have the right to work in the United Kingdom or Ireland, sponsorship is not available.
Willing to travel, 40 - 60% within the UK & Ireland.
