Location: UK Laboratory
Exciting Product Development and Formulation role developing cosmetics, personal care and home care products for the global market. You will be working closely with suppliers, customers and the global sales team to design new products and improve existing products. Key responsibilities will be project management, formulation development, sample production (5-10Kg), providing technical support, liaising with supplier raw materials and hold customer-based seminars.
Responsibilities:
Working with the Technical team and independently to formulate and manufacture new or improved cosmetic products
Projects are carried out on time, both short and long-term R & D within the global technical team, providing technical support, and formulation developments.
Ensure that all assigned work is delivered in a timely manner and that all associated requirements, objectives, and targets are fully met.
Maintain general good housekeeping of the laboratory and associated areas
Assist with validation, maintenance and calibration of any equipment used in the lab
Filling finished cosmetic samples for customers
Organising and sending out formulation samples
Helping with research and preparation for customer meetings and seminars
Stability testing
Re-order samples, packaging and maintain the samples log
Monitoring stock levels throughout the lab and office space and reordering when necessary
Troubleshooting issues arising with formulations at all stages
Assess and track Return on Investment from the division
Technical Marketing activities; Assist with creating Technical Marketing presentations for the external Home and Personal Care team
Support Cosmetics and Personal Care, Home Care Managers in the creation of presentations for customers and suppliers
The role would require working 5 days a week in the lab, unless requested to be in meetings at headquarters or with customers
Ideal Candidate:
You will have a keen interest in the Home & Personal Care Industry and is aware of the structure and global trends and issues facing the industry
Educated to degree level or equivalent qualification incorporating aspects of Chemistry, Cosmetic Chemistry, or a related subject, with desirably an SCS diploma qualification
Must have worked in an R&D environment within the manufacturing (preferably chemical) industry.
Has product development experience from the personal care industry
Has a strong sense of urgency and ability to drive work forward to meet targets and timelines
Is a team player, supporting colleagues when needed and working as part of a team
Proven skills in problem-solving and troubleshooting regarding technical issues
The ideal candidate will need to be able bodied as you will be standing in the laboratory for extended periods and lifting heavy items up to 10Kg
You must have the right to work in the UK, sponsorship is not available
A UK driving license is preferred
