Office based at locations across England

An exciting new role has been created for an experienced Product Manager to join an international organisation. You will be helping to manage and develop the purchasing and pricing process with principles and suppliers both commercially and technically that are key for their Life Science business lines including pharmaceutical, Agrochemicals and Water Treatment. Reporting to the Commercial Director and closely working with the technical, sales, marketing and purchasing teams. You will be predominantly working from your local office with occasional travel to customers and to attend Team and Industry events as required.

Key responsibilities:

  • Working with key principles and suppliers to manage the purchasing process ensuring competitive pricing.

  • Analysis of monthly sales/purchase statistics and create actions to resolve deviations.

  • Build & maintain supplier relationships including supplier contract and pricing negotiations.

  • Ensure and monitor stock holding is adequate and support sourcing to maintain stable product supply.

  • Manage supply chain in partnership with logistics and warehousing teams

  • Participate in the preparation of marketing plans.

  • Work collaboratively with sales team to promote product ranges to customers, with customer visits and training.

  • Visiting and liaising with suppliers about products, pricing, trends, market information. and product discrepancies.

  • Identify key portfolio gaps and areas for development.

  • Support and lead process improvement initiatives.

  • Conduct in-depth market analysis to forecast and identify market trends, track competitors and optimise purchasing costs.

  • Build and maintain pricing models and develop commercial strategies to maximize margins and profitability.

  • Prepare and present detailed commercial reviews and recommendations to senior leadership and sales team.

  • Attend commercial and technical training internally, externally, and industry sector exhibitions.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Strong commercial and technical background, ideally gained through experience within the pharmaceutical, agrochemicals and water treatment markets

  • Prior involvement of supplier management with demonstrable experience of relationship building

  • Academically qualified, ideally with a degree in chemistry or related subject or proven track record gained within the chemical sector

  • A strong commercial acumen with high regard for accuracy and is confident navigating and presenting commercial data with the Team.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to engage with stakeholders of all levels and backgrounds

  • Working knowledge of MS Office and internet-based software applications (CRM Sales Force etc…)

  • You must have the right to work in the UK, sponsorship is not available.
