They are a well respected global distributor that operates across multiple markets including specialty chemicals and ingredients for food, pharmaceutical, personal care, and various Polymer related industrial applications. With a network of innovation centres around the globe, they also create cutting-edge formulations.

As part of their exciting growth plans, the UK team is looking for a recent graduate with at least 3 years technical experience in Polymer Science or Chemical Engineering and the aptitude and desire to move into a sales and business development role. You will spearhead market entry strategies to reach new markets and customers, while building strong client relationships. In addition to remote working arrangements in the UK, this position entails a genuine enthusiasm for conducting client and customer visits across the UK & Ireland. Full commercial training and mentoring with the support of a professional sales team.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategies to drive business growth in new and existing markets

  • Conduct timely and precise forecasting to establish predictable and recurring revenue targets

  • Achieve sales objectives within the assigned segment, while efficiently managing costs and gross margin

  • Proficient in cold calling to generate leads and drive sales growth

  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with business partners and customers

  • Lead negotiations and conclude deals with clients and customers

  • Monitor and analyse market trends and competitor activities to maintain a competitive edge

  • Represent our client at industry events and trade shows

Candidate profile

  • Degree in Polymer Science, Chemistry or Chemical Engineering or proven industry background and experience

  • Proven technical background gained in industry

  • Deep knowledge of plastics, composites, rubber, and fibres

  • Strong communication skills

  • Highly motivated and target driven with good time-management skills

  • Good knowledge of office tools (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)

  • A full driving license is required as this role will involve a significant amount of travel within the UK.
