LOCATION: UK Home and Office based South-East
Exciting commercial role with a successful, established and growing chemical distributor to develop new business and manage existing accounts within the Food, Beverage, Animal Feed & Nutrition Supplement sectors. You will promote a specialist portfolio of ingredients and work with a sourcing and commercial team to develop new products and principals, drive forward sales and diversify the product portfolio and customers.
The successful candidate will have a technical and commercial background in ingredients for Food, Beverage, Animal Feed & Nutrition Supplements applications. Experience in some of the sectors will be considered essential as is a proven track record in new business development. Good communication skills and a drive and determination are required along with good organisational skills.
Responsibilities:
Reporting into the Managing Director, the Technical Sales Manager will take responsibility for UK customers and sales for the Food, Beverage, Animal Feed & Nutrition Supplements sectors.
Collaborate with the existing commercial team to grow the UK market through the identification of new customers and introduction of new products to existing and new customers.
Responsible for regular face-to-face customer contact through visits, emails, and telephone. Recording all activities in CRM.
Regular liaison with the principals & suppliers to ensure understanding of the new products and new technologies.
Liaise and support colleagues within the group. In-house training to develop a good understanding of the food, beverage, feed and nutrition business, the products, markets, and customers.
Provide solutions for customer problems and able to lead technical discussions.
Monitor and report on new technology and materials, market trends and competitor activity.
Candidate Profile
Proven experience in ingredient sales within one or more of the UK's sectors, including Food, Beverage, Feed, and Nutrition.
Track record in finding leads, developing relationships, evaluating sales potential and negotiating price.
Willingness to travel regularly in the UK; typically, three days per week and occasionally in Europe and Internationally for conferences and exhibitions
Customer Focused – identification, proposal, presentation & report writing
Knowledge of industry regulation and UK REACH of benefit.
Administration – communication, logistics and report writing essential
Qualifications - Science Degree an advantage.
Right to work within the UK is essential (sponsorship is not available).
Ideal location in southern England for regular attendance to the Head Office and commercial team.
UK driving licence is essential.
