Are you social media savvy with a fascination with Insta & TikTok? Our client is a leading and long-established distributor of speciality chemicals and additives for a range of applications. They are seeking a Technical Sales Manager to join the Consumer Group sales team and lead sales in the personal care & cosmetics industries.
The successful candidate will have a technical background gained in formulating personal care & cosmetics and a proven track record in sales. As the business grows, under your leadership, the incumbent will have the opportunity for rapid promotion to a more senior role. Good communication skills, interest in social media and a drive and determination are required along with good organisational skills.
Responsibilities:
Reporting into the Managing Director, the Technical SalesManager will take responsibility for UK customers and sales for the personal care & cosmetics industry.
Planning a business strategy to grow the UK market through the identification of new clients and introduction of new products to existing customers.
Responsible for regular customer contact through visits, emails and telephone. Recording all activities in CRM.
Regular liaison with the principals & suppliers to ensure understanding of the new products and new technologies.
Liaise and support colleagues within the Consumer Group. Develop a good understanding of the pharmaceutical, food, feed and nutrition business units, the products, markets and customers.
Provide solutions for customer problems and able to lead technical discussions.
Monitor and report on new technology and materials, market trends and competitor activity.
Additional responsibilities may include key account management, product management and marketing.
Candidate Profile
Several years working in UK cosmetics & personal industry in a technical and sales capacity
Commercial Experience - Extensive customer contacts in UK companies including Technical Managers / Buyers / Sales & Marketing Teams
New business development – Proven track record in finding leads, developing relationships, evaluating sales potential, negotiating price
Marketing – e commerce, social media, networking, presentation and attending exhibitions and seminars
Customer Focused – identification, proposal, presentation & report writing
Technical Experience – Formulation of cosmetics and personal care products.
Knowledge of industry regulation and UK REACH of benefit.
Leadership of sales or new business in UK – management of UK Sales
Administration – communication, logistics and report writing essential
Qualifications - Science Degree, SCS diploma
Right to work within the UK is essential.
Willingness to travel regularly in the UK, occasionally in Europe and Internationally for conferences and exhibitions.
UK driving licence is essential.
