In this role, you will supply industrial and high-performance coatings to the marine and civil industries. You'll thrive in both the boardroom, confidently delivering presentations, and on-site, where you'll assess projects and develop detailed specifications to meet client needs. This position offers a dynamic blend of new business development, strategic account management and hands-on project management.
Our client supplies market leading industrial coatings to the global Marine and Civil industries. Due to increased demand and to further drive success, our client is expanding their team with a Technical Sales Manager. You will develop new business around the world both to customers and distributors and successfully provide key account management. With a background in coatings, yu will develop a technical knowledge of applications, market trends and competitors.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Managing Director
Setting and achieving sales growth and profit targets
New business development from prospecting, through the sales funnel to conversion and building loyalty
Building and maintaining excellent relationships
Product demonstrations to prospective customers and distributors
Engaging in New Product Development initiatives
Creating quarterly and annual sales plans and forecasts, and prioritising and scheduling own activities
Keeping up-to-date with market trends & competitor analysis
Proposing promotional activities
Candidate Profile:
Minimum five years key account/sales/business development experience
Commercially astute and have the ability to hold strategic conversations with customers
Strong technical background/expert, technical knowledge of industrial coatings especially polyurethanes
Minimum BSc Chemistry or equivalent
You must have the right to work in the UK, sponsorship is not available for this role
Hold a current passport and a UK driving licence
Fluent in written and spoken English, additional languages would be an advantage
Willing to undertake up to four months per year of overseas travel: Asia, Europe, North America and the UK with visits to headquarters in Manchester, UK
